Karin Föttinger (PI of P10) and her students successfully developed a new process that uses a molybdenum-based catalyst (MoS2) that can convert CO2 to methanol. This new technology facilitates CO2 reduction in the atmosphere by turning the waste gas CO2 into a valuable product – contributing to the fight against climate change.
The process has already been patented and is currently undergoing scale-up to industrial scale.
Congratulations to Karin and her students!

The Austrian press noticed too – you can find a (German) article here: Neue Katalysatoren können CO2 zu Methanol umwandeln
